Simple Present

PRESENT SIMPLE

Se usa:

1.     Para acciones habituales, rutinas, hablar de horarios, programas.
         He drives to work every day
         Dr. Partridhe regularly gives talks about personality
2.    A fact ( un hecho), General truths( algo real, es verdad) or states.
       A psychologist studies the way people's minds work
       The doctor's practise is in Hasrley Street

Palabras identificativas:

·       Every day (todos los días, every morning (todas las mañanas), on Sundays, in summer (en verano), once a year (una vez al año), week (semana), night.

·       Van delante del verbo, excepto cuando el verbo es To Be que van detrás: Always (siempre), often (a menudo), frequently, usually, generally, sometimes (a veces), seldom (a penas), rarely (raras veces), never (nunca), ever, hardly ever, right now.

E. afirmativa:    SUJETO + VERBO INFINITIVO

E. negativa:           SUJETO + DON’T / DOESN’T + VERBO INFINITIVO.

E. interrogativa:   QUESTION WORD + DO / DOES + SUJETO + VERBO?

                                     What (que), where (donde),  when (cuando), who (quién)…

           

ATENCIÓN: 3ª PERSONA (she, he, it).

To Be: is, isn’t              To Have:  has, hasn’t          To Do:  does, doesn’t

Verbos terminados en a, e, i, u, resto de consonantes: leaves, lives, opens.

Verbos terminados en - s, sh, ch, x: mixes, kisses, finishes, watches.

Verbos terminados en -o: goes, does.

Verbos terminados en consonante + y: studies, tries, cries

PLAY lleva una vocal "a" delante de la "y". La tercera persona singular PLAY+S
cuando delante de la "y" va una VOCA. Se añade solo una -s al verbo.
BUY- BUYS

STUDY lleva una consonante "d" delante de la "y". Se añade -IES. STUDIES
cuando delante de la "y" lleva una consonante cualquiera se añade -ies.
FLY-FLIES

Ejemplos:

He eats apples. El come manzanas

I have a car. It is red. Yo tengo un coche. Es rojo

They don’t speak Italian. Ellos no hablan italiano

I leave Madrid tomorrow morning. Yo llego a Madrid mañana por la mañana

doesn´t she go to the cinema?. ¿Ella no va al cine?

Do you watch tennis on TV?. ¿Tú ves tennis en la televisión?

He doesn’t like chocolates. A él no le gustan los chocolates

They often go to holiday in August. A menudo, ellos van de vacaciones en  Agosto

Lorraine listens to music every evening. Lorena escucha música todos los días.

We always take a lot of photos on holiday. Nosotros tomamos muchas fotos en vacaciones.
Many people don't believe in horoscopes. Mucha gente no cree en los horóscopos.
Bill Clinton spends most of his time in his home country of the USA.
